Local travel to and from Lester B Pearson International Airport

  • Limousines and taxis.
Pearson International is the busiest and largest airport in Canada.  Access to downtown hotels can be by cab or limousine.  Limousine service can be picked up at the lower arrivals levels; reservations are not necessary. Limousine fares are fixed and available to you before your trip.  The present cost to the zone within downtown is approximately $50 Cdn.  Cabs are  metered. Tipping of cab and limo drivers is generally expected.

  • Busses
The Toronto Transit Commission (www.ttc.ca) operates to and from Pearson Airport with buses connecting to the subway.  One-way trip is a cash fare of $2.50 Cdn, and is presently under review.   In order to access the bus, the stop should be identified at the arrivals level and the “192 Airport Rocket” will take delegates to the Kipling Subway station.  Transfers are not necessary.  Kipling is the most westerly station and all trains travel east.  Travel time from Kipling to Spadina, St. George, or Bay Street Stations is approximately thirty minutes.
Airport Express buses are large intercity buses that service a number of Downtown hotels.  They arrive at the arrivals level approximately every half hour and the cost is approximately $15.00 Cdn.  Travel time is approximately one hour or more during rush hour.

Travel in Toronto Public Transportation System
An automobile will be a liability in Toronto during the Congress.  Parking can be costly in the hotels and twenty four hour parking can cost upwards of $30 per day. Toronto is a very good walking city.  In the downtown area, grade is generally flat and the Congress is well located for shopping, meals and theatre.  Delegates who wish to travel within the city can manage quite well by subway or bus.
