Website Committee (WSC)
The WCS develops and maintains the IDEALS website.
Functions:- Assure the continued registration of the IDEALS URL, and arrange for the necessary payments
- Propose a contract or periodically renew an existing contract with a hosting company to the Board, and arrange for the necessary payments
- If such expertise is not available among the IDEALS membership, propose a contract or periodically renew an existing contract with a webmaster for the expansion or technical maintenance of the website, and arrange for the necessary payments
- Keep all pages of the website up-to-date and continuously seek to add new information of relevance to the IDEALS membership, obtaining the necessary copyright releases..
- Ensure that the website, specifically the Bulletin Board, Chat and
Committee pages, are not used improperly
- Make decisions regarding cross-linking the IDEALS web and the webs of other organizations
- Assist the Congress Organizing Committee in developing and maintaining the webpages related to the bi-annual congress
- Assist the Committee on Committee with the management of on-line elections
The Chair of the BEB shall be an IDEALS member in good standing with ample experience in web maintenance, at least in the non-technical aspects thereof. The webmaster, even if not a member of IDEALS, shall be an ex officio member of the WSC. In addition to the Chair and the Webmaster, the BEB shall have at least two additional IDEALS members. The WSC membership shall include at least one IDEALS Board member who shall function as Board Liaison.
