|Academic Background:||I am a dentist (UFSM, Brazil, 2003) and Master of Arts in Education (UVic, Canada, 2006). I am a PhD student at the Faculty of Dentistry, McGill University (Montreal, Canada). During my M.A., I worked with cultural-historical activity theory and discourse analysis to investigate the transitions between school and workplace, with special interest in ethics, dentist-patient relationship, and dental education. My PhD research focuses on working poor population’s understanding of and attitudes towards oral health, with particular emphasis on dental care access and social justice.|
